This week is National Mosquito Control Awareness Week. The American Mosquito Control Association (AMCA) chooses the week of June 26th each year to educate the general public about the significance of mosquitoes in their daily lives and the important service provided by mosquito control workers throughout the United States and worldwide. Bite-Lite® supports the AMCA’s efforts and encourages our web browsers to celebrate and honor Mosquito Week by entering a random drawing for a free membership. AMCA is looking for you to upload photos of what your mosquito control district is doing to promote awareness in your community.
“The submission period will begin at 12:01am ET on June 22, 2014, and run until 11:59pm ET on June 28, 2014. Please share as many photos as you like but note that each person will be entered to win the contest only once. All participants will be entered to win the free membership. One lucky winner will be randomly chosen during the week of June 30.
Members may submit their photos in the following ways:
- Upload your photo(s)* directly to the American Mosquito Control Association’s Facebook page
- Add a caption including the name of your district and what the activity is
- Include #MosquitoWeek in the caption
*In order for your photo to be eligible, all parties present in the submitted photo must be 18 years or older. By submitting your photos, you authorize the use of such photographic reproductions for any purpose including, but not limited to, educational and other public media as may be deemed appropriate by AMCA.
The winner will be announced on Facebook the week of June 30, 2014 and will also be mentioned in the July edition of the Mosquito Monthly e-Newsletter”
